I'd see if I could get some store credit for him and get a occelaris clown.

Anemones host clowns not vice versa. They are passive non-aggressive fish unless there are two pairs in the same tank which in your case can't happen.

But the wife and kids find it really funny. My female occelairs also attacks me when I get near her area.

I have had a true percula with out an anemone and it still bit me when I cleaned the tank.

Afterall, they are members of the Damsel family.

Taking her back is the best idea. My sense is that the aggression your seeing won't stop so you might be better off returning the clown for a more passive species like an ocellaris.

lol. Many hobbyists use a This species of fish thrives well even without a host anemone. I tried multiple times to net it but it seemed impossible. Another couple passive clowns are the skunk clowns and percula clowns.Not sure I'd call Occellaris "passive."
