Out of that came performers like Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper. A hurricane, island castaways, hot native girls, Nazis, a mad scientist, weird experiments, female monsters & a volcano! It was shot in 6 days for $65,000! It tries to take itself seriously but ends up being really laughable. Very Imaginative film. It was like two different people directed this on the other guy's day off ! I cannot remember the last time I gave a one star review, as I can usually find a few good things about a feature, but not so here. It's likely not quite wacky (think Ed Wood) or lurid (think any late-50s AIP flick) enough even for bad film fans either. All this time I thought the film was badly photographed! The film has an unnecessary and irritating voiceover for about 10 minutes into the film. Sensational motion picture! John Ashley kind of holds this nutty flick together with his laid back, natural performance as teen stud. Old cult flick that I am happy to have been able to purchase at a good price too! The print shown by the TV station was awful in comparison to the DVD, in fact some scenes were so dark that people further back in the frame were rendered invisible by the murk, and driving scenes revealed little more than moving headlights! Ominous makeup! Please don't spend your money on this tripe, give it to an alcoholic panhandler instead. Not to the point of major distraction, but not as clean as most of the Image discs I own.
