THE LOSS OF A TEARDROP DIAMOND has plenty of pathos to go around, without resorting to voodoo curses or hermaphrodite fortune tellers.
These are resonant themes in Williams's work, and the "style." By creating an account, you agree to the At Bay Area theaters.)

It's 1923 Mississippi. I enjoyed every minute of the entire movie, and maybe it's been a long time a movie fully cheers me up that much. Julie's aunt Miss Addie (Ellen Burstyn) is bedridden from her opium use in Hong Kong. |
The cast is adequate, given the material, and the direction (Jodie Markell) is pretty shoddy. Williams enthusiast and director Jodie Markell brings the overlooked play to the screen. This 10-digit number is your confirmation number. Was this review helpful? Paladin

In "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond," Fisher(Bryce Dallas Howard) might on the surface seem to have everything she could ever want in Memphis in 1923. I didn't recognize Bryce Dallas Howard, who gives a fine performance, but Chris Evans is what Chris Evans would be if he routinely talked in a Southern accent. August 13, 2010 A deservedly overlooked Tennessee Williams script set in the 1920s South, its plot makes little sense for contemporary audiences. March 25, 2010
