I assume a lot of the earlier missions(zanzibarland and Africa) were also subtle movements of the Patriots and not just the US wanting to get after Big Boss.Im sure BB was considered a threat, but I also think there's less "he was a monster wanting only war" than we were given in the overly simplified MG games.
