This soft gray with beige undertones is the perfect complement to most white marbles, such as Calacatta. We’ve lived in our new home since summer of 2017, but I’ve not really shared much of the “finished” spaces room by room here on the blog!I use the term “finished” loosely because, if I’m honest, my home will never be truly finished to me.
We did look at some lighter neutrals, but with all of the light in this kitchen, the color seemed to just wash away. This elegant bathroom is painted in Benjamin Moore's Revere Pewter HC-172 with the cabinets painted in Benjamin Moore's White Dove OC-17.
We discussed options, and needed a color that would work with the new granite that was being installed.As you can see, there are lots of great colors to consider in this granite, and my clients didn’t want to go with white, which is fine, because again, this kitchen gets tons of light, and with the granite, it was begging for something different. I can think of some perfect tile choices that would be the cherry on top!
It really kicked up the wow factor, and made everything look finished. But stepping back, you can really appreciate the process and the progress.
We’ll be saying good-bye to the blue, and it’s going to be a fantastic redo, (not to mention that it’s for a great friend of mine, which makes it even more fun). I love Revere Pewter on the walls, but this is the first time I’ve painted cabinets in this beautiful color. This kitchen has great nine foot ceilings along with great natural light that comes in from the windows (making it tricky to photograph when using my iPhone). I’m a card carrying paint geek, and am always amazed at the power of paint in making budget-friendly updates to your home.

Am I going crazy?You’re not going crazy:) paint colors will always look different depending on the lighting. Ikea now offers the Blue & White Ginger Jar – I found this one at TJMaxx, but places like Wayfair sell all kinds, like Landscape Painting – Thrift store. The color has soul. and the new granite is almost like mine, though mine has amber yellow, browns and gray in it (grateful for granite, but not loving those colors).What’s not like mine is the peninsula – and that may be a good solution for us (hopefully) when we redo our kitchen someday. What caught my eye was that this kitchen config is mine – minus the peninsula! As for the bones of the kitchen, we started with builder-grade oak, and formica counters.The walls are already a great color (I believe they’re painted in “Quiet Moments” by Benjamin Moore), and painting the cabinets is going to make that color shine even more. My schedule is quickly filling up with lots of client projects, and I mentioned that I just wrapped up a couple of kitchens as well.
